Trump is Destroying America… or is He?

So, the left continues to scream that Trump is destroying the country, but it seems to me, despite the fact that generally speaking the news media bashes Trump constantly, the bits and pieces of news I am catching seem to tell a much different story.  If I were to just look at the stock market, and job market, and initial results from the tax plan, and a few other factors, it would seem that ALL of America is doing better under Trump, much better in fact.

Corporate production that has returned to the United States since the “evil Trump” was elected and has enacted policies that promote US production instead of outsourcing:

  • Ford cancelled a planned small car production plant move to Mexico
  • Trans-Lux (makers of the Jumbotron) are moving 100% of their production back to the US from China
  • Sprint is bringing back 50,000 jobs and investing $50 billion into the US economy
  • GM has invested $1.9 billion in creating or retaining 1,500 jobs in US production facilities
  • Carrier kept 1,100 jobs in the US that they planned to move to Mexico
  • IBM, who as recently as 2016 cut 14,000 US jobs has since announced the creation of 25,000 US jobs over the next 4 years (related story)
  • Fiat Chrysler is moving production of the Ram Trucks back to the US from Mexico, and in doing so is bringing 2,500 jobs back (related story)
  • Amazon announced creation of 100,000 full-time US jobs
  • Walmart announced it would be hiring 10,000 more retail employees and due to construction of new distribution centers, will be employing 24,000 construction workers
  • Lockheed Martin announced it would be hiring 1,800 more workers at their Texas production plant where the F-35 is built (related story)
  • Mining and logging industry has added 42,000 jobs since Trump was elected, as opposed to cutting 83,000 jobs under Obama (related story and related story)
  • Intel resumed production of a new $7 billion facility in Arizona that will employ 3,000 high paying tech jobs and 10,000 support personnel
  • Bayer AG committed to adding 3,000 US jobs and billions in R&D spending
  • Samsung investing $300 million and adding 500 US jobs (related story)

BonusesFollowing the evil GOP (Trump) tax plan passage, that is “literally going to kill Americans,” at least according to the left, these “evil corporations” did the following:

  • AT&T announced they were giving $1,000 bonuses to 200,000 US employees, specifically citing the tax reform as the reason
  • Comcast announced, due to the tax reform, it would be giving $1,000 bonuses to more than 100,000 employees (related story)
  • Walmart raised their base pay to $11 an hour and handed out bonuses of up to $1,000 to hourly employees (related story)
  • The list of companies giving out post-tax plan pay increases and bonuses continues to grow (see image to the right and the related story)
  • Apple, the company liberals love to love, is bringing back $250 Billion and 20,000 jobs to the US and even according to leftist, Trump hating media, “even if only a portion is directly attributable to the new tax law.” (related story)

In regards to a few other measures of the US Economy, the stock market under Trump has grown by $6.9 Trillion, yes Trillion (related story) and in news that has not really even made the news, the national debt has actually fallen by $102 Billion since Trump took office, and even ULTRA liberal Snopes can’t twist that to something other than “True” (Snopes entry).  That is quite the contrast to the increase of nearly $9 Trillion under Obama (related story).

I may just be some stupid street cop, but if this is what “destroying America” looks like, please, keep on destroying.

Note: I will be the first to admit that Trump was absolutely NOT my candidate in the primaries.  I have written numerous times that I hate the way he acts on social media and that I think he is far too flippant with the way he talks about certain issues, including the language he uses.  That is not because it offends me, hell, I am impossible to offend and what he has said nearly echoes my own sentiments, but it is because I feel his behavior is not appropriate for the person holding the position of the President of the United States.  Just because I disagree with how he handles that particular aspect of his job does not remotely mean that I do not support the president.

A Piece of the Pie

Here is a great example of what America can still offer those who are willing to work for it.

While traveling along the northern coastal roads of California I encountered a positive piece of American accomplishment in a place where I least expected it. A simplistic desire revealed pure through old fashion pride and sweat. Something I had forgotten through all of the negativity towards this Country quickened my slumbering step and refilled a pint of hope missing from my glass.

God bless anyone who can find a measure of freedom in a society where the walls corner us all a bit to close.

Two men and two Shepard dogs free born in this blessed country were herding goats. Approximately four hundred of the delightful animals grazed beautiful grounds burgeoning with growth and all parties received payment for their troubles. To dismiss the event as simple or common would be to veil the truth of realized freedom.

My appreciation for what I witnessed doesn’t take into account any Shepard metaphors or a grand duality of meaning. It was merely wonderful to bear witness to something which might otherwise be taken for granted. Freedom and the American Spirit as it was intended occurred in real time right in front of me. What exactly does herding goats have to do with a free market, entrepreneurialism, capitalism or the Pursuit of Happiness?

Those four hundred goats were bred by the two men so that they could eventually sell them and make a profit. All animals need to feed though so why not get paid for that too? Goats are brought to various landmarks simply to graze. The action feeds the goats without the need for purchasing specific refined or purposed foods and helps to keep things “organic” if you will. The men are paid through various contracts to trim back overgrown government owned lands which saves the tax payers from having to spend inordinate amounts of money for other less natural remedies. Wait a minute, I can hear the screams of protest and so I am thrust into the seat of Devils Advocate.

Is it cruel to transport the goats on a large truck to various landmarks across Northern California? I don’t know, the goats did not make their protests clear to me although they seemed quite nourished when I spoke with them. Does this take away from possible high paying jobs that humans could do? Why are goat herders being paid to do a job when someone could be paid prevailing wage to handle the overgrowth with weed eaters, lawnmowers or some of those big scissor things? I don’t know, the Goats seemed quite good at the job and appeared to be enjoying themselves while getting fatter, so even they partook in a piece of the American Dream. Perhaps a competition could be held to determine who the more productive workers are and we could witness the results for ourselves. Goat Versus Man.

The beautiful thing is two men and two sheep dogs were crafty and hard working enough to find a natural, healthy and cheap solution to fire suppression in some of our protected parks. These men pursued what made them happy and got paid to do work they found fulfilling and enjoyable, like any good profession these men were proud. It is times like this when I am thankful for men and women who think outside of the box and somehow make all of the bureaucratic red tap work for them instead of against them.

Thank you gentlemen and dogs for this great reminder of freedom, I wish you success, wealth and happiness. Working men such as you shall ultimately restore this country to greatness. Do not let anyone diminish your work because it is the heart of an American independence that I still believe in. Perhaps this country is not doomed. Sometimes we do not look in the right places for our values where they might exist right in front of us.

My America vs. Obama’s

I’ve said it before, Barack Obama is absolutely the most divisive, un-American president the United States of America has ever had.  This morning, a photo (included below) of normal Americans sitting outside a Marine recruiting center, armed and standing guard over the disarmed Marines inside, really struck me as an example of the difference between what I picture when I think about America compared to Obama’s version.

All of these photos are less than a year old, and they serve as a good example of the difference between my America and Obama’s.  Imagine if I were to dig back to say, I don’t know, Benghazi…

My America

Where citizens come out to stand guard at a Marine recruitment center, and show both support and appreciation for what those soldiers do

Where a black cop charged with protecting a demonstration aids a KKK supporter who is having heat related medical issues

Citizens from every ethnicity gather together to mourn the loss of 9 black folks murdered by a racist coward

Citizens come out in droves to show their local cops that they support them

Americans from all walks of life respectfully mourn the loss of 5 soldiers killed in a Islamic terrorist attack on US soil

Citizens standing up for law enforcement, and realizing all lives matter, not just one segment of society

And finally, a video that I watch periodically that reminds me of My America

Obama’s America

Where the president immediately makes racially charged public statements in defense of a known felon who was killed while assaulting a cop

Where these six cops are charged with a “racially motivated” murder of a fleeing black male suspect, who was arrested in a sweep requested by the very DA prosecuting them

Where the actions of a deranged, racist coward are blamed on sentiments felt by some when viewing a historic flag

Lawmakers discuss legislation to force a small CA city to change its name, because the fort the city was named after was named after an Army General who at one point served in the Confederate Army

Where the mayor of a major American city tells the cops to stand down and lets “protesters” destroy parts of the city

Where the president visiting convicted felons in prison is touted as a good thing

Where cops no longer have the same right to a grand jury review as the rest of the population

Where the FBI is unable to find a link between this shooter and ISIS

Where this deal is touted as a solution to prevent Iran from building nuclear weapons

Where calling the president out for lying to push his social agenda is met by name calling, accusations of racism and demands I leave the country

Where these three people are murdered by multiple time deported illegal aliens who were multiple time convicted felons and the president does nothing, yet he sends representatives to the funerals of felons who were killed by cops

Where a gang affiliated felon killed while feloniously assaulting cops gets a permanent memorial

And finally, where marches in NY city have protesters calling for the murder of law enforcement officers.

The people who voted for Obama voted for “hope and change.”  Well, there has been no hope, and all of the change has been dramatically for the worse.  I only “hope” that they will pull their heads out of the collective asses during this next election, or I fear the change Obama has brought will only get worse.
