Sacramento Sheriff’s Race – An Easy Choice

Cover

I grew up in Sacramento, I still live in Northern California, and I have quite a few friends who work for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department, so I tend to stay abreast of things happening there.  The current election cycle coming up has four candidates vying for the position of Sheriff, and of those four, there are only two real contenders.  Bret Daniels, who runs every single time, is a former Sacramento deputy who got fired, whom I have written about in the past, and then there is Donna Cox, another former deputy who was a sergeant at the time she left the department and, at least from what I have heard via the rumor mill, left under somewhat bizarre circumstances.  Neither of them have much support at all, and almost none from actual members of the department.  That brings us to the two front runners, the current Sheriff, Scott Jones, and the primary contender, Milo Fitch.

As an oath keeping, pro-second amendment cop myself, Scott Jones definitely has done some things that I find very reassuring.  One of his earliest campaign promises when he first ran for office was that he would make significant changes to the department’s concealed carry licensing program, and that is a promise he kept.  In fact, that is one of the primary reasons that numerous California Democrat politicians have gone on the offensive against Jones and the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department.  In fact, certain California lawmakers have singled out Jones and the department when discussing gun laws and concealed carry licensing.  Also, Jones is also a strong vocal supporter of stricter immigration enforcement and he has even met with President Trump to discuss the matter which has only further angered the liberal left.

Beyond his pro-2A stance and his immigration policies, even according to the cop hating Sacramento Bee, crimes rates in Sacramento dropped under Sheriff Jones while the rest of the nation saw increases.  In fact, a survey of Sacramento residents was conducted and 80% of the respondents were happy with their interactions with the Sheriff’s Department under Jones’ leadership.  In fact, 200 jail inmates were surveyed and they also overwhelmingly had positive responses about the department.  The only group who raised a stink about the results of that survey was Black Lives Matter, so that should tell you something right there.

The list of people endorsing Scott Jones for Sheriff is a quite impressive list of law enforcement labor organizations, current and former law enforcement professionals, including department heads, and many other groups and individuals.

Being friends with a number of people who work for Scott Jones, I conducted my own, very limited in scope survey.  The overwhelming majority of them viewed Jones as a good leader.  As is typical with ALL cops, they could all point to one or two things that they did not like, such as a new policy, or something that was said or done, but those same people said they definitely supported Jones, especially when compared to the other options available.

That brings us to Milo Fitch, Jones’ main competition in the race.  Fitch, like all the others, previously worked for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department.  He had a long career that culminated with him in the rank of chief deputy, one of the highest ranks in the department, where he served under Sheriff Jones.  However, his career ended very abruptly when an investigation was opened into some shady deals where he used his position to push policies that benefited a business owned and operated by a woman he was dating at the time, the very woman whom he has since married.  Fitch, rather than ride out the investigation, chose to retire after serving only nine (9) months as a chief deputy.  Had he stayed in his position for a mere three (3) months longer, his retirement would have seen nearly a $5000 per year increase.  Instead, he up and bailed.  What is that old saying, something about running being the international sign of guilt?

Going beyond the very questionable circumstances in which he left the department, considering some of Fitch’s policy ideas is a scary proposition, especially from a law and order point of view.  Fitch makes it very clear where his priorities lie: pushing the Democrat party talking points.  Milo is pushing for stronger gun control laws, you know, because of how lax current California gun laws are…  He was a supporter of propositions 47 and 57, and supports further “criminal justice reform” while suggesting that different communities in Sacramento are treated differently by law enforcement (ie: racial bias, racism).  He is also suggesting the current bail system needs reform, which the current Democrat plan is to eliminate bail altogether.  Exactly none of those things are proposals that are supported by law enforcement, especially not line level working cops.  In fact, that all seem to be nothing but liberal talking points.

In speaking to my friends who work for the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department, several of them have told me that Fitch had a split reputation on the department.  Some people had good feelings about him, while others referred to him as “Milo Snitch,” although none of the people I spoke to could tell me from what circumstances that nickname originated.

Nicknames aside, the position of Sheriff is not a popularity contest, and whether the cops on that department like the Sheriff or not does not necessarily indicate the type of job they will do as Sheriff, but it most definitely does make a difference when it comes to employee morale.  If you want to know what type of influence employee morale plays in how well an agency functions, just look at the Sacramento Police Department over the last couple years.  They have been in turmoil, but not because the employees are bad.  In fact, it is quite the opposite, they have a large number of well educated, well trained excellent cops who are dedicated to keeping their city safe, but their leadership has been abysmal which has caused a mass exodus from that department leaving them in a large staffing shortage.

Speaking of what is happening to the Sacramento Police Department and their current turmoil, take a look at some of Fitch’s top supporters.  It is a laundry list of liberal democrats from the Sacramento City government, including Mayor Darrell Steinberg, six (6) Sacramento City Councilmembers, anti-gun, anti-law enforcement CA Assemblymember Kevin McCarty, the cop hating Sacramento Bee, and a laundry list of other liberal democrats and leftist organizations.

One of those leftist organizations supporting FItch is named “Real Justice PAC” which is run by none other than the cop hater extraordinaire himself, Shaun King.  King has a long history of fanning anti-law enforcement sentiment and stirring up angry folks to the point that they have rioted and destroyed their own city (ie: Ferguson).  Most recently, in fact only a couple of days ago, King pushed a completely bogus narrative that caused not one, but two Texas Troopers to receive death threats from his followers.  When body cam footage of the incident in question was released, King deleted his post and pretended nothing happened.  About eight hours later, he published a blog post admitting the original incident did not happen like he had previously said, but he never once offered any sort of apology to the two cops whose lives he endangered.  In fact, he did quite the opposite and tried to make himself out as the victim in the whole incident.

FitchKing

Here is Fitch posing with Shaun King at a recent event in Sacramento, hosted by King.  But hey, don’t take my word for it, take Fitch’s.

So, besides policies, departmental reputations, history of criminal or potentially criminal issues, and who they choose to hang out with, one other important factor to consider is from where these candidates are getting their money.  In Jones’ case, the overwhelming majority of the money is coming from Sacramento residents, Sacramento business owners, and the Sacramento Deputy Sheriff’s Association (a good sign when the union supports the existing boss).  Fitch on the other hand has received the vast majority of his money from two very liberal Bay Area / Silicon Valley billionaires (Kaitlyn J. Trigger Kreiger and Patty Quillin) and Shaun King’s Real Justice PAC.

Now, I cannot tell you who to vote for, but I can tell you that if I were a resident of Sacramento County, I know who would get my vote.  It is clear to me that there is only one candidate who not only has Sacramento’s best interest at heart, but he also has Sacramento’s support, and that is Scott Jones.

CA Liberals Kill Yet Another Cop

DeadCops

Yesterday, August 30, 2017, Deputy Bob French, a 21 year veteran cop with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, was murdered in cold blood by a worthless piece of crap career criminal who should have been behind bars, but instead was loose on the streets thanks to policies put in place by California liberals.

Normally, I refuse to name the criminal in cases like this, but in this instance I must in order to allow doubters to verify what I am going to say.  Thomas Daniel Littlecloud (32 yrs), who from this point on I shall only refer to as “Scumbag,” should have been in prison yesterday, but thanks to AB-109, the California Prison Realignment Act, which was dreamt up, written, passed by CA democrat politicians and signed into law by CA democrat governor Jerry Brown, Scumbag was loose.

Scumbag has felony convictions going back to at least 2004 in Alameda County.

2800.2 VC [F] ; 29800 PC [F] – 9/10/2013

10851 VC [F]; 2800.2 VC [F]; 29800 PC [F]; 11377 HS [F]; 496 PC [F] – 5/15/2013

245 PC [F] x6, 12021 PC x3 [F] – 12/6/2005

10851 VC [F]; 11378 HS [F]; 11370 HS [F]; 12021 PC [F] – 9/3/2005

10851 VC [F], 69 PC [F], 243(c)(1) PC [F]; 11377 HS [F] – 12/31/2004

12020 PC [M] – 9/1/2004

Then, in December of 2015, Scumbag was arrested again, on new charges which included possession of stolen property, possession of loaded guns by a prohibited person, possession of narcotics, resisting arrest, and a number of other felonies.  At the time of that arrest, for all of those fresh felonies, Scumbag was on active “PRCS” parole.  He was still on “PRCS” parole yesterday when he killed Deputy French.  Hell, even the cop hating, uber-liberal Sacramento Bee freely admits he has a lengthy criminal history.

You might be wondering what the hell “PRCS” parole is.  PRCS was created by AB-109, and what they (CA democrats) did was take “non-violent offenders” out of prison, put them on the streets, and instead of assigning them to a parole officer, they mandated the counties provide supervision of these state prisoners.  The counties were allocated funding to do this new task, however the state all but took their ability to violate these parolee’s parole unless they committed a fresh felony, and even then the maximum amount of time they can get is a joke*.  What it boiled down to was the state, at the direction of the liberals who created these laws, saved a bunch of money by just releasing inmates onto the streets.

So, back to Scumbag here, when he was arrested for all of those fresh felonies back in December of 2015, he had his PRCS parole violated.  But here we are, less than 2 years later, and Scumbag is back on the street with loaded stolen guns, dope, stolen cars, and now instead of just fighting and running from the cops, he shot three cops, killing one.

If you are a California voter, and you voted for the democrat politicians who passed these bills, if you voted for Jerry Brown who signed AB-109 into law, if you voted for other bills decriminalizing crimes (Props 47 & 57) and coddling criminals, you bear some responsibility not only in the death of Deputy Bob French, but in the deaths of all the other cops and regular citizens who have been killed by the people you put back on the streets.

Actions have consequences!  Your vote has consequences!

Today, thousands of cops are mourning the loss of a fellow officer and a family is mourning the loss of a father and grandfather, whose death is one of the direct consequences of your votes.

Please, stop killing us!

Now, based on past experience, I know I will be receiving messages and comments from offended California liberals telling me that they “adamantly support law enforcement” and would not do anything to endanger the cops or to lessen public safety.

To that I call BULLSHIT!!!

If you voted for the people who passed these laws, or if you voted for Prop 47 or Prop 57, you did in fact do something that not only endangers yourself and all of California, but has directly lead to the deaths of numerous people, including several cops, the most recent being Deputy Bob French.  You may not have intentionally done so.  You may not have realized that is what you were doing, but sadly, that is exactly what you did.

* This sentence has been edited after an actual PRCS case worker pointed out my error where I said the counties did not get funding.

Hey Democrats, Not Everything is Racist

CA Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, proponent of SB-620
CA Assemblywoman Shirley Weber, proponent of SB-620

BREAKING NEWS! CA State Assembly is not quite as idiotic as the CA State Senate!

The CA Assembly is deadlocked on SB-620, a bill which claims to want to allow judges to ignore mandated sentence enhancements “in the interest of justice.”  In a move demonstrating that they care more for felons who use guns than the law abiding gun owners in the state, the CA senate passed the bill few months ago.  Thankfully, it appears that a few democrat members of the CA assembly have not fully sold their souls to the devil as a few of them joined the republicans in blocking this bill, which thankfully has been shelved for the time being, due to the deadlock.

So, what exactly would SB-620 “Firearms: Crimes: enhancements” do you ask?  Let me quote the actual summary of the bill that was used for house floor deliberation:

“Allows a court, in the interest of justice, to strike or dismiss a firearm enhancement which otherwise adds a state prison term of three, four, or 10 years, or five, six, or 10 years, depending on the firearm (assault weapon or machine gun), or a state prison term of 10 years, 20 years, or 25-years-tolife depending on the underlying offense and manner of use (if they actually shot someone). “

So why am I upset?  What is the big deal?  So what if the law allows a judge discretion to drop sentencing enhancements?

First of all, these are the same lawmakers who are constantly passing more and more restrictive, not to mention unconstitutional laws that are aimed at law abiding gun owners, such as me.  People who have done nothing wrong but are being hounded by these liberal, anti-gun lawmakers as if we are running about shooting people willy-nilly.

Secondly, those very same lawmakers who are going after law abiding gun owners with a vengeance are now proposing eliminating sentence enhancements for violent felons who actually used a gun during the commission of their crimes.  That is what this bill is about.  The crimes for which those enhancements are applied include: murder, mayhem, kidnapping, carjacking, assault with intent to commit rape, assault on a peace officer or firefighter with a deadly weapon, rape, sodomy (forced), child molest, oral copulation (forced) and more.  The crimes that receive the gun enhancement are not non-violent crimes.  These are very bad crimes being committee at gunpoint, by very bad people.

Hell, these intelligence-challenged lawmakers, the people who are constantly screaming “assault rifle this” and “assault rifle that,” are even suggesting that the judge be allowed to ignore the sentence enhancements for someone who used an “assault rifle” or machinegun during the commission of their crime, even if they shot someone.  Are these people serious?  They’re clowning us, right?

But wait, it gets even better.  So then, to top it off, when the bill (THANKFULLY!!!!) failed to pass, CA Assemblywoman Shirley Weber dropped this steaming pile of race baiting horse hockey:

“ ’[Judges] are prohibited from considering the facts of the case and whether a penalty would serve the interests of justice,’ Weber said, adding that the law disproportionately hurts people of color.”

Excuse me?  What did she say?  The law disproportionately hurts people of color?  Is there some invisible print in the law that says those enhancements only apply to people of color?  No?  Then is there already an existing exemption that allows a judge to ignore those enhancements if the criminal is white?  No?  Then shut up already!  Drop the race baiting BS lady!  It is old, its tired, and its a blatant lie.

The reason more people of color are affected by this law is that more people of color are committing the enumerated crimes while armed with a gun.  Again, as I have noted many times, this is not a race issue, it is a socio-economic issue.  Statistically speaking, more people of color live in poverty than whites and areas of poverty is where more drugs, crime and violence occur thus more people of color live in areas plagued by drugs, crime and violence, thus more people of color are involved in drugs, crime and violence, and thus more people of color are arrested for violent crimes.  It is not rocket surgery.  To suggest that somehow the laws are at fault for this takes a special kind of stupid.

Democrats, can you please stop claiming that everything you don’t like is racist? Please?  I feel like Bobby Boucher in the Waterboy.  Not everything is the devil mama!  Not everything is racist!
